Week of July 22

My dear Community,

As the sun rose over the farm this morning, I reflected on the incredible synergy between our farm and the surrounding community. By working with our local waste management companies, we divert organic waste from the landfill (horse manure and grape pomace, a biodegradable waste product of wine making), and transform it into rich, life-giving compost. This is the life of our soil, providing the essential nutrients allowing our crops to thrive.

Selling our produce through our CSA program and farmers markets is not just about offering fresh, local food. It represents a model of agriculture that minimizes regulatory burdens and maximizes direct connections between farmers and consumers. By supporting our CSA and farmers market stands, you help maintain a system that prioritizes sustainability and local economic health. This direct-to-consumer approach allows us to focus on what we do best—growing organic, nutrient-dense, delicious produce without the heavy hand of extensive regulation.

Being a part of our CSA means you are an essential link in this sustainable chain. Your support ensures that our farm continues to be a vibrant part of the community. Together, we are creating a model of farming that not only benefits our environment but also strengthens the bonds within our community. Thank you for being a crucial part of this journey, and for helping us demonstrate that the best way to shop is local, sustainable, and direct from the farm.

We've recently partnered with Diamond Black Custom Meats. They're a local family taking a more regenerative approach to meat. They practice herd rotation in Guadalupe to not only provide delicious grass-fed beef to the community, but also to help improve soil health and biodiversity. We're offering Denver steaks, center cuts, wagyu ground beef and beef patties.

Enjoy 10% off the Denver Steaks and Center cuts for this week and next. They'd love for you to try their delicious cuts and offer feedback.

Also watermelon, corn, santa rosa plums and more are available in the store. Happy Summer.

Be good to each other.
